Too many birthdays may mean the “disease” of aging has come your way, but medical science wants to come to the rescue with a “cure.”
As children, we welcomed our birthdays, often proudly stating our age with both years and months, but as we reach adulthood, age takes on a different meaning in our lives. Birthdays may still be celebrated, but we may also meet them with apprehension in terms of attractiveness, careers, group cohesion, and the making of a will. The latter activity isn’t one without a sense of ominousness, knowing that we're leaving everything and everyone we’ve ever known and hoping we will be remembered fondly. But not everyone is accepting that final exit, and they are feverishly working toward another future, one without end.
