Shrinks Creating a New Syndrome Based on TV Series
TV has spawned yet another alleged psychiatric syndrome, but this one is exclusive to the very wealthy. Oh, what a joy it is, too.
The list of imaginary syndromes must need tweaking, and some mental health professionals are more than willing to provide yet another “syndrome” for eager journalists. This one is called, obviously, Succession Syndrome and is the exclusive province of the ultra-rich, who have that dreary concern — the will and who gets what or gets to head the corporation.
The media loves this red meat type of story based on something that is firing up viewership. And here it is and there is or are corporate entities who deign to serve these unfortunate billionaires-in-waiting for such small fees it almost makes you want to cry for them. Oh, what is the fee structure? Over $100K/wk? No, that isn’t a typo, but it does seem highly overblown, and that’s what PR agencies thrive on — stories that make your eyes pop out. This has all the necessary ingredients, including a comment that the people who seek help from this entity have enormous wealth.
