I worked in SDAT research years ago with a national protocol for the first medication for it. What I learned since then is that we haven't made much progress since then, and hypotheses are hard to abandon by some researchers. The brain is still holding its many secrets from us, and fresh views on the genesis of things like dementia are needed.
