I can tell you from what I’ve heard (brief stint in bigpharma PR) is the detail people get about a week or two training. Then they’re sent out with flip charts and Powerpoint presentations to “educate” the docs with lunch or breakfast for the doc and staff. Large boxes of the new drugs are left with the nurse safeguarding samples and some docs get benefits like steak-and-champagne dinners at “educational seminars” at swanky hotels.

I can’t figure out what most of the ads are addressing. One I really take issue with pushes a med for TD (tardive dyskinesia) that is CAUSED by taking other meds. From my understanding, TD is never cured, only hidden bc brain cells have been destroyed. And they never look like the guy in the paint store or the waitress. It’s an ugly side effect.
