I agree with you. If there isn't a huge payday for medical breakthroughs, the research isn't being done. Medical schools and universities may not have the funding and, as in too many things, it's who you know and what they can do for you that counts. Once heard a major doc say, "Ten years of dinners before we got what we wanted."
