You will see many offers to teach you how to get published, and most of them will offer classes or seminars and charge you for the information — not here.

Most writers wish to see their book, over which they've slaved for years sometimes, in print. It is a triumph and a lure that will lead too many down the wrong path.

Like any other business, publishing is rife with charlatans and people who want to make money, who will take manuscripts, get you to sign a contract, and charge you for printing your book. Or they'll offer publishing seminars/classes where they'll "teach" you the tricks of the trade and the "secrets" publishers don't want you to know. Rubbish.

The publishing fees may be more than $5,000, and they will massage your ego to get you to pay for this type of publishing. In the trade, it's called vanity publishing because that's precisely what it is, a project to trap the naive and print whatever any writer wants for a fee. What you're doing is buying your own books.
