Heroes Are Needed, But How Do They Come to Be?

Desperate times such as natural disasters, medical pandemics, and political uprisings require people with the qualities of heroes, but who becomes a hero is the question.

Climate change is a force that is perpetuating the need for heroes, and we’re seeing them come forward in response to its dangers. Wildfires and weather changes of horrific force are now becoming more common than ever before, and who will be willing to come to our rescue? Ordinary people are picking up and answering the alarm bells. Even those whose job it is to protect us find themselves brought into the heroism arena in ways they never anticipated.

Ordinary people can become heroes in times of danger and disaster by putting their daily lives on hold and acting with extraordinary bravery, selflessness, and readiness to go above and beyond the call of duty. This metamorphosis results from a complicated interplay between several external factors and internal traits that coincide with exceptional events.

Altruism, or the natural desire to help others, is one of the primary motivations behind acts of heroism. Heroes frequently have a keen sense of empathy that enables them to deeply feel the suffering of others around them.
